I'd like to place a order.  What next?

Please email us with the following information:

Please supply either a design number from our design gallery with any changes you want or any ideas for a custom design. Please indicate any particular colours of card etc.

Please let us know all the items you are ordering and the wording for each item.  We also need the date you want the completed order delivered by, the delivery address,  and daytime / evening telephone numbers. 

From this information I will produce proofs (photos of the designs - which are not stuck down at this stage) for your review and send you these via email. Please review the proofs carefully, as it represents your final design. 

Can you create a completely custom design for me?

Yes, please email me with your ideas and I shall come up with some designs for you to choose from.

Can I talk to you instead of doing everything online?

Yes, please email me if you would like to set up a phone consultation and I will be happy to arrange this. Please let me know your preferred times e.g. evenings after 7pm.

Do you recycle?

All of us here at the Marking Occasions studio feel pretty strongly about looking after our planet and it is our policy to try to reuse and recycle where possible. We operate a zero waste policy, in that if it can be recycled it will be.  Generally orders are sent out in used boxes and bags, which I reuse from our suppliers and friends. Occasionally a new padded envelope gets used, if we don't have one to reuse in the right size.. Reusable surplus is given to a local school.  We use a doorstep recycling collection for paper, cardboard, cans, glass and plastic.

What is the recycled content of the card you use?

The card we currently use is hammer white or hammer ivory which has a 75% recycled content. We buy our recycled card from www.eco-craft.co.uk where all the card sold is between 30% and 100% recycled content.

Do you supply recycled envelopes with your handmade cards?

Envelopes normally used are quality 100% recycled laid envelopes.

Are any of your handmade paper covered albums, guest books and keepsake boxes fairtrade?

Some are purchased from Carrole.com and are labeled fairtrade in the listings.  Their products are made from eco-friendly and recyclable materials and they are co-operatively made and fair trade.   Artisans associated with Carrole are paid a fair price for their craftsmanship, so that they can support their families. 

What type of diamante gems do you use?

We use swarovski diamante flatback rhinestones. Swarovski have continually pushed boundaries of innovation and cystal creativity since 1895, when the company's founder Daniel Swarovski pioneered his scintillating machine-cut crystal jewellery stones which are still to this day manufactured in Austria.
